We Want to See Idaho in Action

Last year you blew us away with nearly 1,200 stunning landscape and nature photos. This year, we're flipping the lens — We want to see you in action enjoying all that Idaho’s Great Outdoors have to offer

We’re looking for stunning images of YOU, Idahoans, enjoying everything we love about our great state. Show us your best action shots of Idahoans enjoying the outdoors. Skiing fresh powder. Casting a line at sunrise. Mountain biking a singletrack. Floating down the river. Playing pickleball in the park. Riding a side-by-side through the backcountry. If it's Idaho and it's fun, we want to see it. With 13 winners and cash prizes up to $500, your photo could earn a spot in our 2027 Westmark calendar.

How to Enter

Three simple steps to get your Idaho action shot in the running.

1. Snap Your Shot

Grab your best photos of Idahoans doing Idaho things — hiking, skiing, fishing, biking, floating, riding, or anything in between. Phone pics and pro cameras are both welcome.

2. Submit Online

Upload your photo through our submission form below. Include a description, the location where it was taken, and the season it represents. You can submit up to 4 photos — one per season.

3. Win Big

Winners will be announced on June 8th. All entrants will be notified whether they won or not. The grand prize winner takes home $500 and a framed print!

Who Can Enter

  • Open to everyone — amateur or professional
  • Phone photos, pro cameras, and drones accepted
  • You do not need to be a Westmark member
  • All skill levels welcome

Photo Requirements

  • Must feature people doing Idaho activities
  • Must be taken in Idaho
  • Must be a photo taken by you — no AI-generated images
  • Include a description and location
  • Photo can be from any time period

Submission Limits

  • Up to 4 photos per person — one per season
  • No collages
  • Portrait or landscape orientation accepted
  • Landscape orientation preferred for printing

Please Avoid

  • Heavy filters, text overlays, or graphics
  • Watermarks (for print-quality purposes)
  • AI-generated or stock images
  • Photos not taken in Idaho

All entries must sign a waiver and photo release granting Westmark permission to use submitted photos for calendar, marketing, social media, and office decor purposes. Full contest terms will be available on the submission form.

Our first Idaho Photo Contest blew us away with stunning landscapes, wildlife, and nature photos from across the state. Those winning photos are now featured in our 2026 Westmark calendar — hanging in homes and offices across Idaho.

The contest runs for 6 weeks from April 6 through May 22, 2026. Submissions are accepted during the entire contest period. Winners will be announced on June 8th.

  • Grand Prize (1 winner): $500 cash, a 16x20 framed print of your photo, and your photo featured on the calendar cover and as the winner of your season.
  • Seasonal Winners (3 winners): $50 cash, a Westmark goody bag, and your photo featured in our 2027 calendar.
  • Runner-Ups (9 winners): A Westmark goody bag and your photo featured in our 2027 calendar.
All 13 winning photos will be featured in the 2027 Westmark calendar and may also be used on social media, our website, in branches, and in marketing materials, with credit given to the photographer.

This year's theme is Idaho people doing Idaho activities. We want action shots of Idahoans enjoying the outdoors — skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, boating, paddle boarding, rock climbing, riding side-by-sides, playing pickleball, and more. Photos must be taken in Idaho. Only submit photos you own the rights to — no AI-generated images, no collages. Portrait or landscape orientation is accepted, but landscape is preferred for printing purposes. Avoid heavy filters, text overlays, and watermarks.

Anyone can enter! The contest is open to photographers of all skill levels — phone photos, professional cameras, and drone shots are all accepted. You do not need to be a Westmark member to participate.

No! Photos can be taken at any time as long as they were taken in Idaho and feature people doing Idaho activities. Dust off those old favorites!

Winning photos will be featured in our 2027 Westmark calendar. They may also be used for brochures, office decor, our website, digital signage, and social media — with photographer credit given when possible.

Yes, you retain ownership of your photo. However, by entering the contest, you grant Westmark Credit Union permission to use your photo for calendar, marketing, and promotional purposes. We'll give credit to the photographer when possible.
